The Cons of Having a Classic Wardrobe Style

Choosing to dress in a more classic style is great. You are never in or out of style. No real fads for you. The inevitable risk is run for the impending boredom of looking at what you got going on in that wardrobe of yours. Every. Single. Day.

Take skinny jeans for example. This ‘trend’ I could not get on board with for years after they came on the scene well over a decade ago. But alas, the stretchiness of denim evolved to overcome the feeling of constriction felt in the early style choices and finally I made the move away from the beloved (and somewhat dated) bootcut.

Wow, a small fissure had erupted in my confined style ideology.

Then true to form:

After I adopted the style, I promptly identified a brand that fit my odd waist to leg ratio and immediately bought them in every shade.

All at once.

And that was that.

Flash forward eight years. I still have those damn jeans. Other than the few that ripped due to weight fluctuations, the rest of the litter of that brands 2012 cut remain, staring back at me when I open my wardrobe each morning.

They’ve been my besties. But they also begin an internal dialogue that is so much more than the ‘what should I wear?’ conundrum.
